Instructions

For our botanical / crystal infused circle wax melts, place the entire melt into the top of your burner / warmer. Ensure that your warmer / burner is not overfilled. Botanicals or crystals must never come into contact with a flame. For our clamshells, wax snap bars and other wax melts, place 2 pieces in the top of your warmer / burner. Ensure that your warmer / burner is not overfilled. DO NOT add water. DO NOT melt on cooktop or in non-approved appliances. Use only in well-ventilated areas away from flammable materials. Discontinue use if dish contains less than 13mm of wax. Once the scent fades, to dispose of wax melts, wait until your warmer / burner has completely cooled and the wax has solidified and gently remove the wax. Alternatively, whilst your warmer is turned off / extinguished, but the wax is still slightly warm, soak up the wax using a paper towel. Discard used wax melts. Never pour wax down a drain. Store your wax melts in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Wax Melt Vapour Mist

It is normal to see a slight vapour mist rising from your wax burner as the wax melts and releases the fragrance. However, if you notice excessive misting, this is a sign that the wax is getting too hot. When the wax is too hot, it causes the fragrance oils to burn too quickly and the wax can overheat, increasing the risk of fire. If you notice excessive misting, please extinguish or turn off your wax burner.

If using a tealight wax burner, ensure that the tealight you are using is an appropriate size for the burner (a small, 4-hour max tealight – please note wax burners should only be used for a maximum of 3 hours before being extinguished / turned off). If using a smaller tealight does not result in excessive vapour mist then continue using. If this does not resolve the issue, it could indicate that the burner you are using is not suitable for wax melts and you should discontinue use.

It is important to note that wax melts should only be melted in suitable burners, designed for wax melt use. Using an oil burner can result in excessive vapour mist and can cause the wax to overheat. This is because the base of the wax dish is usually placed closer to the flame, resulting in the wax overheating, increasing the risk of fire. Please discontinue use if this occurs and consider purchasing a wax burner designed for wax melts. Please see our wax burner section for more information.

If you ever notice black smoke or soot, or bubbling wax from your wax burner, please extinguish / turn off and discontinue use. Wax warmers should not be used for more than 3 hours at a time. Never leave a wax burner unattended while in use, at any time. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Wax Melt Burners

Tealight Burners

If using a tealight burner, it is important to choose an appropriately sized wax burner, suitable for use with wax melts. Tealight wax burners have a larger gap between the tealight and the well of the wax dish (usually 10cm, sometimes larger), whereas an oil burner can have a much smaller gap. A burner that is too small, or not suited for wax melts, can cause excessive vapour mist and cause the wax to overheat, increasing the risk of fire. An appropriately sized wax burner will help to achieve an effective scent throw.

Always use a 4-hour tealight when burning your wax in a tealight warmer (do not use for longer than 3 hours). Larger tealights burn too quickly, can cause excessive vapour mist and cause the fragrance oils to dissipate faster. Larger tealights also pose a fire hazard as they may cause the burner to become too hot, which can damage your tealight burner and potentially cause wax to spill onto the tealight.

When extinguishing your tealight wax burner, use a candle snuffer rather than blowing out the flame, as blowing may cause hot wax to splatter.

Electric Burners

Electric wax burners are a great option for a flameless wax melting experience, especially if you are not allowed or are concerned about having an open flame in the house. They also provide a consistent, controlled heat.

Whichever option you choose, ensure you do not use a wax burner for longer than 3 hours, never leave a wax burner unattended (extinguish or turn off if you leave the room) and keep out of reach of children and pets.

Replacing Your Wax Melt

Once the scent fades you should replace your wax melt. To do so, extinguish / turn off the wax burner and wait until it has completely cooled and the wax has solidified. Gently remove the solidified wax from the dish. Alternatively, with the wax burner extinguished / turned off and cool to the touch, but the wax slightly warm, you can use paper towel to soak up the wax. Discard used wax melts. Never pour wax down a drain.

To clean your wax burner, gently wipe using a paper towel. Do not add water. Ensure there is never any water in your wax burner. Water and wax create a fire hazard.

Store your wax melts in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and extreme temperatures.
